Full-time Associate Editor

Allied Media has is seeking to hire  a full-time Associate Editor. This is a work from home position.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, or a related field and 2 plus years of experience in media. Online experience a plus.
  •  Industry knowledge preferred
  •  Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to take direction and multi-task
  • Ability to work under deadlines
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with content management systems, especially WordPress
  • Familiarity with InDesign a plus

 

Duties:

  • Conduct interviews and perform research to write articles, headlines and captions to meet editorial calendar requirements based on guidance from chief editors
  • Edit and proofread written material to conform to editorial style and policy
  • Contribute daily to social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn
  • Gather news and monitor industry developments to become knowledgeable in subject matter and contribute to editorial content
  • Manage the flow of written, visual, and audio material through to the art/design and e-media departments to meet multiple production deadlines
  • Assist editorial staff with e-news content and all related digital products, including web sites and E-newsletters
  • Perform other duties as assigned
