Remote Medical Coder $5000 Sign-on Bonus

Grady is looking to hire remote medical coders for reviewing inpatient/outpatient records using ICD-9-CM and CPT coding systems. You must be eligible for a $5000 sign on bonus!

You must be detail-oriented to accurately determine codes for billing, data retrieval and research using a computerized system equipped with on-line abstracting and APC/DRG assignment. You should have a working knowledge of government regulations, protocols, and third party payer requirements regarding coding and billing. Research un-coded charts on unbilled report. Maintain productivity logs. Works in a fast paced environment where variable workload must be completed within prescribed time frames using fixed resources.


  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Register Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credentials
  • AHIMA (CCS, CCS-P, CCA, RHIA or RHIT) Certification or AAPC (CPC, CPC-H or CPC-A) Certification strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and familiarity with computerized Grouper essentials
  • Extensive knowledge of ICD-9-CM diagnosis/procedure and/or Level l (CPT) and Level ll/ (HCPCS) Coding principles and Systems
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience with ICD-9-CM and CPT codes preferred
  • Strict attention to accuracy is required
  • Must satisfactorily pass a Coding test that is administered by the Health Information Management Department
