Remote Medical Coding

RighSourcing has remote medical coding job openings. They are looking for experienced Inpatient and Outpatient Coders with minimum of 2 years experience for current and upcoming short and long term contract/temp assignments at our client sites for our various California Client sites.

Assignment durations and shifts will vary. Many of these opportunities allow the Coder to work on remotely (telecommute)!

Requirements:

  • Coder should have min 2 years Hospital Inpatient or Outpatient coding experience, or combination of both.
  • Proficient in ICD9 / CPT -4 Assignments.
  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), and/or Registered Health Information Technologies (RHIT), and/or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) required.
  • High School Diploma required.

Duties:

  • The Coder reviews clinical documentation and diagnostic results as appropriate to extract data and apply appropriate ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 codes for billing, internal and external reporting, research and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Inpatient Coders typically code and abstract all record types including Ancillary, ER, Observation, Outpatient Surgery, and Inpatient, while following official Guidelines for coding and reporting.
  • Outpatient Coders typically provide coding services in a hybrid environment for ambulatory surgery, emergency room records and  ambulatory encounters using ICD9 and CPT coding classification systems by thoroughly reviewing available documentation for accurate and complete diagnoses and procedures.  Adheres to department standards for quality and quantity. Demonstrates ability to navigate through EMR, coding application, and other hospital resources required for coding.
