Research Analyst (work from home)

TNTP (www.tntp.org) is looking for a full time analyst for their Partnerships & Research Department. This position will be based from a home office anywhere in the U.S and will require up to 20% travel. This role is available immediately.

The Public Affairs Group is responsible for sharing TNTP’s ideas and innovations in a clear and compelling way to both external and internal audiences, working to establish TNTP as the nation’s most influential voice on teacher policy. The Partnerships & Research Department is responsible for ensuring the organization meets its annual revenue goals.

As an Analyst you will be responsible for managing external studies of TNTP’s programs and services, supporting TNTP’s internal organization-wide research agenda, and advising TNTP staff on research and analysis issues. Specifically the Analyst will:

  • Manage and consult on the design, data collection, and analysis of internal research projects in support of the Public Affairs Group agenda
  • Launch new projects and ensure existing projects remain on schedule and within budget
  • Facilitate communication between researchers, vendors and site staff and/or clients
  • Disseminate easily digestible and highly accessible formative and summative research findings within the organization and externally as appropriate
  • Administer & analyze key data sources that benchmark performance and spur Human Capital action towards improved organizational outcomes
  • Review publications and advise leadership and individual project teams on relevant research findings and cutting-edge research methods or standards
  • Facilitate TNTP’s internal research advisory group
  • Support TNTP staff in finding data, creating presentations, identifying models of best practice, and creating publications for open distribution
  • Generate insightful and/or innovative ways of using and presenting data that advance our work and goals

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with complex research design methods and understanding of district data sets
  • The ability to design innovative techniques for working with imperfect data sets and translate outputs of self-directed data analysis into easily digestible, insightful, and high-level findings for both policy and practical applications
  • Expertise conducting statistical analyses, including correlations and regressions
  • Experience with survey design and administration
  • Ability to manage work across multiple projects and teams
  • Expertise with SPSS, Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong client management and relationship building skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently, especially under deadline pressure
  • Flexibility and comfort with ambiguity
  • Master’s degree, including statistics coursework (strongly preferred)

The annual salary for this position is $60,000 or commensurate with experience in a similar position, with the potential for a performance based bonus.
